From March 11 to March 19, students of the Legal Clinic at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy are conducting a series of educational outreach trainings in secondary schools as part of the “Qaldirg’och” initiative. The project is implemented in cooperation with the National Agency of Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the participation and professional supervision of its qualified specialists. To date, the initiative has reached approximately 300 students across 12 schools, with sessions delivered to primary, middle, and high school students.
On March 11, we visited School No. 290 in Bektemir district at 09:30 and School No. 293 at 10:30, working with grades 1–4.
On March 12, we continued in Mirzo Ulugbek district at School No. 221 at 09:00, again with grades 1–4.
On March 12–13, visit was paid to Mirobod district's School No. 154 (14:30) engaging primary school students.
From March 13 onward, we expanded to middle school students (grades 5–8). In Sergeli district, we visited School No. 7 at 09:00. On March 16, visits took place in Uchtepa (School No. 62 at 08:00) and Chilonzor (School No. 232 at 15:00). On March 17, we visited Shaykhontokhur district (School No. 324 at 11:00).
The final stage focused on senior students (grades 9–11). On March 17–19, visits were conducted in Yunusabad (School No. 272 at 10:00), Yakkasaray (School No. 135 at 10:00), Yangihayot (School No. 292 at 11:00), and Yashnobod districts (School No. 227 at 10:00).
The trainings focus on the topic “Protection of Children from Violence: National and International Standards” and aim to raise awareness among young people about their rights, freedom from any type of abuse and available protection mechanisms. The sessions are interactive and tailored to the students’ age group, encouraging open dialogue and active engagement. During the trainings, students are introduced to key forms of violence, including physical and psychological abuse, bullying, exploitation, sexual violence, and neglect. Participants are also informed about legal protection mechanisms and the relevant authorities they can seek help from. The trainings have also involved representatives of the social services center «Inson” strengthening the institutional and interdisciplinary approach of the project. This collaboration highlights the importance of joint efforts between academic institutions, government bodies, and human rights organizations in promoting awareness, preventing violence, and protecting the rights of children.
The implementation of this initiative aligns with and supports the overarching objective of ensuring zero tolerance for all forms of violence against children enshrined in national Strategy for the Protection of Children from All Forms of Violence for 2026–2030, approved by Presidential Decree № UP-256 dated 24 December 2025. In this context, the “Qaldirg’och” project contributes to the objectives of state policy by raising awareness among schoolchildren, promoting prevention of violence, and supporting effective child protection measures at the community level.
