Another session of outreach visits to the Boarding School of 77.
On May 26, 2025, within the framework of the “Qaldirg‘och” project initiated by the Legal Clinic under the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), as well as broader initiatives aimed at protecting the rights of minors and providing legal assistance and advocacy for persons with disabilities, first-, second-, and third-year students of the Faculty of International Law visited Specialized Boarding School No. 77 for Visually Impaired Children in Tashkent.
During the visit, the students conducted an interactive presentation titled “The Rights of Minor Girls: Protection from Violence and Discrimination.” The session focused on explaining the fundamental rights of underage girls in an accessible and age-appropriate manner, including the right to education, personal safety, dignity, and protection from all forms of violence and discrimination. The format of the session encouraged open dialogue, allowing the children to ask questions, share their thoughts, and actively engage with the presenters.
In addition to the legal discussion, the visit included interactive activities, such as origami workshops, which created a friendly and inclusive atmosphere and helped build trust and communication between the students and the children. The children also had the opportunity to showcase their talents by performing on musical instruments, demonstrating their creativity, confidence, and skills.
These interactive elements reinforced the core message of the project — that empowerment goes beyond legal knowledge and includes emotional support, self-expression, and recognition of each child’s abilities. The visit aimed not only to increase legal awareness among visually impaired girls, but also to foster self-confidence, motivation, and a sense of belonging, while promoting empathy and social responsibility among future legal professionals.
The “Qaldirg‘och” project will continue to organize similar educational and outreach activities, combining legal awareness with inclusive and participatory methods, to support the rights, dignity, and social integration of underage girls and persons with disabilities.
