On
April 18 of the current year, within the framework of the
“Qaldirg‘och” project of the Legal Clinic under the
University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), second- and third-year students of the
Faculty of International Law visited
Specialized Boarding School No. 77 for Visually Impaired Children in Tashkent.
This visit constituted an important component of initiatives aimed at
protecting the rights of underage girls and persons with disabilities, as well as providing them with legal assistance.
The
“Qaldirg‘och” project, implemented by the Legal Clinic, was established with the purpose of
enhancing legal awareness among vulnerable groups of society and providing practical support, while also serving as a unique platform for students to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice.
During the visit, students delivered a presentation dedicated to the
rights of persons with disabilities, particularly
visually impaired children, focusing on their legal guarantees in the areas of
education, healthcare, social protection, and other fundamental rights. Throughout the session, students listened attentively to the children’s questions and opinions and provided clear explanations on legal issues of interest to them.
The primary objective of the visit was to
introduce young people to their rights, foster
legal awareness and culture, and strengthen
empathy and social responsibility toward members of society with disabilities. The students also met with the administration and teachers of the boarding school, gaining insight into the educational process and existing support mechanisms for the children.
Commenting on the importance of the initiative,
Z. Ubaydullayev, Head of the UWED Legal Clinic, stated:
“The initiative carried out by our students within the framework of the ‘Qaldirg‘och’ project is of great significance. As future legal professionals, they must deeply understand that the rights of every member of society deserve protection. Such visits not only enhance their professional skills but also contribute to the development of humanitarian values.”
The administration of Boarding School No. 77 expressed their gratitude, emphasizing that the students’ visit served as a strong source of motivation for the children and significantly contributed to improving their legal knowledge.
The
“Qaldirg‘och” project plans to continue implementing similar initiatives aimed at protecting the rights of persons with disabilities and minors, as well as organizing various activities and projects dedicated to social inclusion and legal empowerment.
